About porto.info

porto.info is a travel guide to Porto. The city lies in the north of Portugal, on the north bank of the Douro, shortly before the river flows into the Atlantic. Opposite, on the south bank, lies Vila Nova de Gaia with its port wine cellars.

If you have a few days in Porto, you will want to know what fits into them. The guide covers the old town and the Ribeira, Livraria Lello, the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia and a day in the Douro Valley. It also explains how to get from the airport into the city and which district suits your trip when it comes to where to stay. For an overview, see the Sights page and the home page.

Content and bookings

porto.info covers the city, Gaia and trips into the Douro Valley, not the whole of Portugal.

You book admission tickets, cellar visits and Douro Valley tours through Tiqets. After booking, the confirmation and terms of the company you booked with apply. If you have questions about a reservation, contact the company named in your confirmation.
